The Venice Vikings are a Pop Warner organization and our cheer teams participate in sideline cheer and competition cheer. Saturdays during the football season, teams will cheer-on their respective football counterparts from the sidelines. Cheer competitions kick off in October with the Peace River Cheer Competition. Teams that advance will go to the Regional Competition over Thanksgiving weekend in Orlando. Teams that advance after Regionals will go to the National Championships in early December back in Orlando. 

Who is Eligible:

• Athletes Ages 3-16 as of July 31, 2024

• Athlete is responsible for purchasing gameday cheer shoes and competition cheer shoes.

• The Cheer Director makes the final determination on team placement
  

Practices:

Practices will be held on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. with Wednesday and Friday reserved as make up days due to weather cancellations.

Competitions:

• Peace River Cheer Off - Sunday October 20, 2024 at Hertz Arena in Ft. Myers - Our teams will showcase their best two-minute and thirty second routine at a league championship. This competition is held in an ice arena and is known to be very cold so dress accordingly! Cheerleaders will stay in a hotel room overnight with their parents on 10/19. If you have to work and will be unable to spend the night and/or attend the competition, please let your head coach know as soon as possible so that we can make arrangements for her to have a ride and spot in a coach's room.
  
  
• Pop Warner Southeast Region Cheer Competition "Regionals" - November 28 - December 1 (yes - over Thanksgiving!) at Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee - Cheer teams who place at the top of their category at the Peace River competition will advance to Regionals. With the exception of Tiny Mites, cheerleaders will stay in a hotel room in Orlando with a coach or chaperone and two other cheerleaders (Tiny Mites will stay in a room with a parent(s). Our time in Orlando will be packed with practice time and fun activities before the competition so you will most likely not see your cheerleader until the day of competition. Your cheerleader will ride home with you after their competition and award ceremony. If your cheerleader will need a ride to and/or from Orlando, please let your head coach know as soon as possible so that we can make arrangements for her to have a ride.
  

• Pop Warner National Cheer and Dance Championships "Nationals" - December 7 - 14 - Nationals is during the week so your cheerleader will miss a few days of school, but we will give you a letter from Pop Warner excusing her absence. Cheer teams who place at the top of their category at Regionals will advance to Nationals. With the exception of Tiny Mites, cheerleaders will stay in a hotel room in Orlando with a coach or chaperone and two other cheerleaders (Tiny Mites will stay in a room with a parent(s).
